Technical Background

My name is Bob Miller and I am the author/owner of this site. I would like to invite you to read this page so that you can have a better understanding of who I am and what my “technical” background is.

The Mission:

The mission of this site is to provide you with frank and honest in-sites into my opinions of products and things I find on the Web. If I can save you wasted time and energy on finding something you want, by giving you an honest opinion of it, then I have accomplished my mission.

Why Me:

Why should you be interested in what I have to say? Well quite simply, as I mentioned in my “About Me” bio, I am a generalist by nature. I explore a lot of different things and I try to put them to personal use if I can. This site is an example of that, as I’m making it from software I wanted to try out. I feel that this makes me uniquely qualified to provide reviews or make recommendations to people like me who after all are the general users of these things.

Technical History:

I have been “into” computers and the Web for more than 20 years. My first computer was a 256K Tandy “CoCo”, which were one of the first color computers to come on the market. I cut my teeth with CGA and DOS Basic. Yes, I was one of the first true computer geeks.

Over the years I have written, reviewed, and beta tested more programs and software then most people.  I’ve built my own computers, ran a local BBS (remember those), developed my own web sites, coded by hand in HTML, some of which are still up after 20 yrs., and have several on line businesses.

My Training:

Self taught, I have learned everything by the seat of my pants. I figure that if I can understand and use something, then others can too. That goes for hardware as well as software, and even personal products. If you want your reviews or recommendations from some industry specialist then you are in the wrong place. But, if you are looking for straight forward everyday common man type information, then I think, and hope, you will be pleased with this site.

Well, there’s an overview of my technical background and why I hope you will feel comfortable with my opinions of what I provide. You don’t have to agree with what I say about something, but please at least keep an open mind.
